Founded in 1798, Highland Park Distillery is one of Scotland's oldest and most renowned whisky distilleries. Located in Kirkwall on the Orkney island of Mainland, it is Scotland's northernmost distillery. Surrounded by rugged nature and stormy seas, Highland Park whisky reflects the unique climatic conditions of the Orkney Islands. Today, the distillery is part of The Edrington Group and produces around 2.5 million liters of whisky annually.

Highland Park Thorfinn is one of the six exclusive bottlings in Highland Park's Warriors Edition series. Named after Thorfinn, the most powerful man of his time who completely controlled the Orkney Islands, he is described as a significant chieftain in the Orkney Saga. His remains rest in St. Magnus Cathedral in Orkney, underscoring his historical importance.
