This bottling is created by marrying selected single malts from five different cask types, resulting in a smooth, yet balanced and complex Scotch whisky. The layered appearance with warm golden tones reflects the variety of cask maturations and underlines the careful blending approach of this edition. Bottled at 40%, the Laphroaig SELECT presents itself as well-rounded, clearly structured, and true to the brand, without being too demanding.


The maturation includes whiskies from Oloroso sherry casks, Pedro Ximénez sherry hogsheads, ex-bourbon casks, and first-fill ex-quarter casks, and is finished in new American oak casks (Virgin Oak), a rare wood source for Scotch whisky. This broad range of casks gives Laphroaig SELECT its balance of peat smoke and seaweed with room for red fruits, lime, and a floral finish. As the distillery's most palatable bottling, it reflects over two hundred years of distillation tradition in a modern, accessible form.
