Description
Description
The Escorial Grün, developed by Robert Riemerschmid in 1835, is based on numerous herbal and spice distillates.
In the 1970s, with its high alcohol content, it was a popular liqueur, sensorially comparable to Chartreuse Verte.
Because it was rumored to make women lose their will after just one glass, it was no longer served in some establishments.
It is made from various spices and herbs, has a strong woodruff aroma, and gets its rich, green color from added colorants.
Escorial Grün is often used in gourmet cuisine because it is perfect for flambeing pan-fried dishes and desserts.
