The Angostura 1919 Premium Gold Rum Deluxe Aged Blend 40% Vol. 0.7 l + GB is an authentic rum from Trinidad, whose production takes place entirely on the island – from sugarcane cultivation to final bottling. This rum matures for at least eight years in former bourbon barrels, whose influence is responsible for its soft structure, warm color, and complex aromatics. The name "1919" recalls a historical event in the early 1930s: A devastating fire destroyed a large part of the stored rum barrels in the Government Rum Bond. A few barrels survived the fire and contained rum from the 1919 barrel filling. These rare stocks became the inspiration for today's bottling, which is considered a tribute to this extraordinary time.
