Zacapa 23 Centenario Gran Reserva, one of the most renowned and well-known rums in the world, is produced by the Guatemalan rum brand Zacapa, founded in 1976. Zacapa is internationally recognized for its high-quality rums, which are created through a unique and highly complex aging process.

The rum is produced in the highlands of Guatemala, where the cool climate and high altitude create optimal conditions for aging. The sugarcane used, grown on fertile volcanic soil, gives the rum a distinctive flavor profile that sets it apart from other varieties.

In keeping with Zacapa's tradition, Zacapa Centenario Royal was made from "virgin sugar cane honey," meaning it comes from the first pressing of the sugarcane. After distillation, it underwent Zacapa's special aging process, known as the "Sistema Solera," where different vintages are stored in a continuous blending process.

Zacapa's Master Blender selected the rarest and best-aged rums from Guatemala's cellars to create Zacapa Royal. It received its special finish in fine French oak barrels, and the slow maturation of this rum is crucial to the development of its complex flavor profile.
