Togouchi is produced by Chugoku Jozo, a distillery in the town of Togouchi in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. The distillery is situated within a natural cave system that was originally built as a railway tunnel but was later converted into an ideal environment for maturing whisky. The cool, humid conditions in the tunnels provide an optimal climate for whisky maturation, resulting in a product rich in flavour and character.

The production process for Togouchi 9 Years is quite unique. Once the whisky has been distilled, it is transported to the tunnel – which was originally built as a railway tunnel – where it matures for at least nine years. During this time, the whisky absorbs the complex aromas and flavours of the oak casks in which it is stored.

Once the maturation process is complete, the whisky – now rich in flavour and character – is carefully blended and bottled before finally being shipped to retailers around the world to offer whisky enthusiasts everywhere an exceptional tasting experience.
