Togouchi is produced by Chugoku Jozo, a distillery located in the town of Togouchi in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. The distillery is situated in a natural cave system that was originally built as a railway tunnel, but was later converted into an ideal environment for aging whiskey. The cool, humid conditions in the tunnels provide an optimal climate for whiskey maturation, resulting in a product rich in flavor and character.

The production process for Togouchi 9 Years is quite unique. After the whiskey is distilled, it is transported to the tunnel, which was originally built as a railway tunnel, where it ages for at least nine years. During this time, the whiskey absorbs the complex aromas and flavors from the oak barrels in which it is stored.

Once the maturation process is complete, the whiskey, now rich in flavor and character, is carefully blended and bottled before finally being shipped to retailers worldwide, offering an exceptional tasting experience to whiskey lovers everywhere.
