Description
The Cedar Ridge Distillery was opened by Jeff Quint and his wife Laurie in 2005. In 2009, Kolin Brighton joined to oversee the distillation process. Only local ingredients are used, such as corn grown specifically on the farm. The composition of 74% corn, 14% malted rye, 12% malted barley, and maturation in new oak barrels are just some key facts about this bourbon. What makes this bourbon whiskey exceptional is the rather unusual maturation method, as accelerated maturation results in a significantly higher "Angel's Share" than usual. In the USA, this Angel's Share value is usually between 10-12%, but for Cedar Ridge Iowa Bourbon Whiskey, it is approximately 18%.
