This cooperation began with the exchange of Jameson barrels, which were used by the brewery to brew stout beer.

After the beer was bottled, the barrels returned to the Jameson Distillery, which used them for the maturation of their Irish Whiskey. The result of this creative partnership is the Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition, a whiskey that perfectly integrates the intense aromas of the stout into its own character.

The Jameson Caskmates matures after traditional triple distillation in Irish ex-bourbon barrels, but additionally receives a special finish in stout beer barrels from the Franciscan Well Brewery. This special aging gives the whiskey a more mature depth and complex aromas of roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee, which harmonize perfectly with the typical fruity and vanilla notes of Jameson Irish Whiskey.
