The Macallan Distillers is one of the most renowned whisky distilleries worldwide, known for its exceptional single malt whiskies since its founding in 1824. The sixth and likely final edition of The Macallan Series was inspired by the 173 km long Scottish River Spey, a natural wonder that significantly contributes to the uniqueness of The Macallan whiskies. This edition is deeply connected to the history of the region and its wildlife, including the endangered Atlantic salmon, which inhabits the river.

Macallan supports the Atlantic Salmon Trust, an organization dedicated to conservation work in this region and raising public awareness. Steven Bremner, Macallan's whisky maker, hand-selected all five casks for this edition and incorporated the history of the region into the production process.
