In the language of the Peruvian natives, "Pisco" means "bird" and refers to a South American (Peruvian) grape brandy that has been produced since the 16th century. Barsol Mosto Verde Italia is a Pisco made from partially fermented Italia grapes. The Italia grape (Uva Italia) is a table grape originally from France. In Peru, it is classified as an aromatic grape for Pisco production and enjoys great popularity thanks to its floral, fruity aroma. In the Pisco variant Mosto Verde (green must), the grape juice is only partially fermented and thus contains residual sugar. While a bottle of ordinary Pisco at Barsol is made from about 5 kg of grapes, a bottle of Mosto Verde requires a full 10 kg. The effort is worth it: the Mosto Verde process releases the finest grape aromas, and the high-quality Piscos are excellent for enjoying neat. Among Barsol Piscos, Pisco Mosto Verde Italia is considered "the fruity and subtle one!"
