Heidsieck & Co Monopole, established in 1785, is one of the world's most traditional Champagne houses. Especially since the beginning of the 20th century, the house has enjoyed great esteem among European royal families and at the Russian Tsar's court. In 1916, 3,000 bottles of champagne were shipped to the Russian imperial family in St. Petersburg, but the cargo never reached its destination as the ship "Jönköping" was sunk by a German submarine.

It wasn't until 1998 that divers succeeded in salvaging around 2,400 bottles from the wreck. Heidsieck & Co Monopole's "Blue Top" is characterized by a fruity flavor profile and is based on an assemblage of 70% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay, and 10% Pinot Meunier, which gives it its unique balance and richness.
