The Japanese whisky distillery "Akkeshi" began its journey into the world of whisky production in 2016 and has since continuously worked on its reputation within the international whisky community. The distillery is located on Hokkaido Island, a site carefully chosen by founder Keiichi Toita. Toita, a great admirer of Scottish single malts, was convinced by Hokkaido's climatic conditions, which are very similar to those in Scotland and thus offer ideal conditions for whisky maturation.

After producing numerous new-make spirits, which already offered promising insights into the distillery's potential, Akkeshi's first single malt is now available on the market. This first single malt impressively demonstrates how the combination of Japanese precision and Scottish tradition can lead to an exceptional whisky.
