James Fleming founded the Aberlour Distillery in 1879 in the heart of Speyside, a region renowned worldwide for its premium whiskies. The location, picturesquely situated at the confluence of the Lour Burn and the River Spey, and nestled amidst the impressive landscape of Ben Rinnes, was carefully chosen. The crystal-clear, soft spring water, flowing over the pink granite of Ben Rinnes and sourced from nearby springs, gives Aberlour whisky its distinctive character.
Aberlour 12 Years Old Single Malt matures for at least 12 years in carefully selected Oloroso sherry casks and American oak barrels. This double maturation subtly combines the unique characteristics of both cask types, creating a rich and complex Speyside single malt.
