The Plantation Rum Guatemala XO Moscatel Maturation Edition 2021 is a limited single cask bottling that combines the elegant style of Guatemalan rums with an exceptional wine cask finish. This rum was produced at Destiladora de Alcoholes y Rones from sugarcane molasses and distilled in column stills, which gives it a particularly clear, structured, and smooth basic characteristic. Fermentation over 2 to 3 days lays the aromatic foundation for a balanced distillate with a moderate ester structure.


The rum initially matured in its country of origin and was stored until 2021 before receiving its distinctive 11-month finish in Moscatel wine casks. This finish adds extra depth, floral accents, and an elegant sweetness to the rum. This edition was bottled from Cask No. 15 at 43.7% Vol. With a dosage of 15 g/L, esters of 46 g/hL AA, and volatile components of 148 g/hL AA, this bottling is aromatically balanced, approachable, and at the same time complex.
