The Don Papa 7 Years Old Small Batch Rum – Old Edition is made entirely from sugarcane grown on the Philippine island of Negros, which for over a century was known as the "sugar bowl" of the country. Here, one of the sweetest and highest quality sugarcane varieties in the world grows, forming the basis for this characteristic rum. Don Papa is named after one of the few known heroes of the Philippine Revolution, who, before his fight for independence, worked as a simple foreman on a sugarcane plantation. The rum is distilled at the foot of Mount Kanlaon volcano and aged for over seven years in American oak barrels, whose influence decisively shapes its soft, sweet style. Afterwards, a selection of different barrels is carefully blended and bottled in small batches, giving the Old Edition its expressive, harmonious character.
The combination of regional sugarcane, volcanic terroir, and tropical aging results in a distillate with distinct sweetness, a smooth structure, and warm, fruity accents.
