Barbancourt Rhum Five Stars 8 Years, produced on the island of Haiti, is considered a rare spirit in Germany. This rum, distilled in the Cul de Sac plain, originates from sugarcane juice that has exclusively come from Domaine Barbancourt's own plantation since 1952. After harvesting, the sugarcane juice is fermented for three days, followed by a double distillation. The first distillation process takes place in continuous columns, while the pot still method is used for the second round.

The rum is aged in French Limousin oak barrels, which can hold up to 70 hectoliters, for at least eight years. After this period, the rum is bottled as Barbancourt Five Star Reserve Special, characterized by its golden color and complex aroma profile.
