In the picturesque landscape of Riegersburg in Styria, Alois Gölles, a third-generation member, leads the traditional family business in fruit farming. After graduating from the renowned Higher Federal Institute for Viticulture and Fruit Cultivation in Klosterneuburg, he dedicated himself to refining his parents' harvest of apples, pears, plums, and peaches. His entry into the distillation of fine spirits began in 1979, followed by the establishment of his manufactory for high-quality vinegar in 1984. Today, the product range includes about twenty fine spirits and just as many vinegar varieties, which regularly receive recognition.

The "Ron Johan Rum" is distinguished by its unique origin: it is distilled in Styria, with the molasses necessary for production sourced from Brazil, Paraguay, and the Dominican Republic. Another striking feature of this rum is the bottle label, which depicts pirate Black Beard and the Austrian Archduke Johann. The rum is also dedicated to the latter, which gives it a special cultural and historical dimension.

Ron Johan White Rum, distilled in spring 2018, is made from sugarcane molasses from South, Central America, and the Caribbean. Storage in neutral stainless steel tanks ensures that the rum retains its clear color and does not absorb any wood aromas, which underlines its fine and fresh character.
