Plantation Rums have long ceased to be an insider tip. The excellent rums are mainly collected in the Caribbean and also in South America and then brought to France, where they receive their final touch. In Ars, France, the rum is then stored for several months in small, discarded oak cognac barrels. This type of maturation is called "Double Ageing", a technique that was already used in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Plantation Rum Guyana Single Cask Teeling Single Malt Irish Whiskey Finish 2007 matures for 13 years in Bourbon casks and then for 1 year in FERRAND casks. This rum receives its finish in Teeling Single Malt Irish Whiskey Casks.
