The island's name is derived from the legend of Princess Tamar and her love for a handsome young man who drowned in Lake Van with the words "Ah, Tamar."

Charles Aznavour participated in a tasting and thus selected wine distillates for the blend, each reflecting a moment in his life's work. This brandy contains wine distillates from 1956, 1960, and 1981. It matures for 25 years.
