The Domaines Francis Abécassis distillery is located in Claix, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. Cognac has been recognized as a single estate there since the late 1990s.

The distillery owns a 280-hectare vineyard located in the Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, and Fins Bois regions. The Leyrat brand is produced by Domaines Francis Abécassis.

For the Leyrat V.S.O.P. Réserve Single Estate Cognac, exclusive eaux-de-vie from the Fins Bois region are blended. This Cognac matures for at least four years in French oak barrels.
