The first site of the Loch Lomond Distillery was founded in 1814 at the northern end of Loch Lomond near Tarbet. The current distillery was founded in 1965 by the former owners of the Littlemill Distillery, a few miles from Glasgow.

The distillery's operations are overseen by Master Blender Michael Henry. Michael grew up next to two distilleries and thus developed a passion for distilling and brewing whisky early on. He has been the Master Blender of Loch Lomond Distillery since 2014.

Loch Lomond Distillery has partnered with "The Open." "The Open" is the most significant international golf championship with qualifying events on five continents, also known as "The One."

This bottling is a tribute to the championship, which is taking place for the 150th time. The championship will be held at the world-famous "Home of Golf," the Old Course in St. Andrews.

The whisky is produced by Master Distiller Michael Henry. Maturation takes place in American oak casks before the whisky receives its finish in Bordeaux red wine barriques.
