The distinctive rum, whose uniqueness is shaped by the climate of Nicaragua, originates from the renowned Compania Licorera de Nicaragua. Although based in the capital Managua since 1890, production takes place at the distillery near Chichigalpa, strategically located close to a sugar factory, approximately 120 kilometers from Managua.

The Zapatera Rum owes its name to the idyllic island of Zapatera in Lake Cocibolca, giving it a special connection to Nicaraguan nature and culture.

To complete its aromatic complexity, Zapatera Rum matures in carefully selected 200-liter oak barrels, which lend depth and complexity to its flavor profile.
