The Glencadam 13 Years Old Sauternes Wine Cask Finish Limited Edition 2008 is an impressive bottling from the Eastern Highlands, perfectly capturing the elegant style of the Glencadam Distillery, founded in 1825. As one of the few active distilleries on Scotland's east coast, Glencadam is known for its clear, fruit-forward distillates, which are valued for both its own range and for blends. For this limited edition, the single malt was initially matured in excellent ex-Bourbon casks made of American oak, before the individual casks were masterfully vatted and then finished in selected Sauternes wine casks from France. This combination marries the distillery's pure distillate structure with the noble sweetness and complexity of the French sweet wine. The bottling is done at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, and with natural color, impressively preserving the authentic character of this limited edition – restricted to 3,042 bottles.


The Sauternes finish imparts a flattering depth of honey, dried fruits, vanilla, and delicate wine sweetness to the whisky, harmoniously integrating with the floral freshness and creaminess of the Glencadam style.
