In the late 1990s, a group of friends had the ambitious plan to establish the first whisky distillery in Wales in over a century. Their goal was to create a whisky as pure and precious as Welsh gold. In 2004, on St. David's Day, this dream became a reality when Penderyn Whisky saw the light of day. The distillery owes its uniqueness, among other things, to the copper pot still designed by Dr. David Faraday, featuring a special still. It is located in the village of Penderyn, at the southern end of the Brecon Beacons. The pure spring water from the region significantly contributes to the quality of the exceptional Penderyn whiskies.

Penderyn The Headliner Welsh Whisky is the 9th bottling in the renowned "Icons of Wales" whisky collection and honors the significant 20th-century social reformer, David Lloyd George. This limited edition impresses with a fascinating maturation process, which takes place in both Jamaican rum casks and Ruby Port wine casks. This unique combination gives the single malt a captivating blend of tropical fruit notes, sweetness, and a subtle spice.
