Description
The distillery was founded in 1879 by Charles Mortimer Dedman. Due to Prohibition, which prohibited the production, sale, and transportation of alcohol, Kentucky Owl was shut down. The whiskey was confiscated by the government and taken to a warehouse for storage – however, the warehouse mysteriously burned down with all the good whiskey. Dixon Dedman, Charles' great-grandson, took his family's fate into his own hands and made it his goal to revive his family history.
The Straight Bourbon Whiskey Batch No. 12 has 57.9% ABV, making it Kentucky Owl's highest-proof bottling.
