The Tomintoul Distillery, located in the Scottish Highlands in Cairngorms National Park and named after the nearby village of Tomintoul, opened its doors in 1964 and is now owned by Angus Dundee Distillers.

At 370 meters above sea level, Tomintoul is Scotland's second-highest distillery, surpassed only by the Braeval Distillery, founded in 1973. Although most of the 3.2 million liters of alcohol produced annually are exported to the United States for blends, Tomintoul regularly releases special single cask bottlings.

The Tomintoul Small Batch Cask Finish series is a no-age-statement range distinguished by its finish in various casks. This whisky first matures in Bourbon casks and then receives its characteristic finish in Caribbean Rum Casks, giving it a distinctive note.
