The Tomintoul Distillery, located in the Scottish Highlands in the Cairngorms National Park and named after the nearby village of Tomintoul, opened its doors in 1964 and is now owned by Angus Dundee Distillers.

At an elevation of 370 meters above sea level, Tomintoul is Scotland's second-highest distillery, surpassed only by the Braeval Distillery, founded in 1973. Although the majority of the 3.2 million liters of alcohol produced annually is exported to the United States for blends, Tomintoul regularly releases special single cask bottlings.

This particular whisky begins its maturation process in carefully selected Bourbon casks, where it develops its basic aromas. It then receives its finish in fine Cognac casks, which give it additional depth and complexity. This double cask maturation creates an unmistakable character that delights both enthusiasts and connoisseurs.
