The Ole Smoky Distillery in the Smoky Mountains has a rich history spanning over a century, beginning with the region's first settlers. Despite this long-standing tradition, moonshine production was not always legal until a change in Tennessee law allowed for the opening of the first state-licensed distillery in Gatlinburg.

Today, Ole Smoky not only produces traditional moonshine, which has been cherished regionally for generations, but also a variety of exquisite whiskies. These products are a testament to the craftsmanship and rich history that have made Ole Smoky a significant name in the spirits industry.

To produce the fruity liqueur, a blackberry puree is prepared and macerated in Ole Smoky whiskey for 2-3 days. This process extracts the intense aromas of the blackberries and harmoniously blends them with the whiskey, resulting in a uniquely fruity liqueur.
