The Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 Years Old Batch No. 5 is a limited-edition small-batch release from the historic Ardbeg Distillery on the Scottish island of Islay. The single malt is named after Traigh Bhan, a beach situated near the distillery which, due to its unique subsoil, is also known as ‘Singing Sands’. For Batch No. 5, this heavily peated Islay single malt Scotch whisky was matured for over 19 years in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and Oloroso sherry casks. The long cask maturation combines the characteristic Ardbeg smoke with maritime, spicy and unusually tropical notes.

With an alcohol content of 46.2%, the Ardbeg Traigh Bhan Batch 5 is bottled without chill filtration, thereby preserving its character as close to its original state as possible. Within the Traigh Bhan series, each batch represents a distinct bottling, ensuring that differences between vintages and cask combinations remain discernible. The combination of 19 years’ maturation, Bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, and the unmistakable smoky, maritime Ardbeg style makes Batch No. 5 an intriguing bottling for lovers of matured Islay whiskies and collectors of the Traigh Bhan range.
