Both molasses and sugarcane honey are used for the production of Diplomatico Selección de Familia, with the mashes fermenting for one to two days using the distillery's own yeast strain. Depending on the type of rum to be produced, distillation takes place in column stills, batch kettles, or pot stills, achieving the perfect flavor profile.

The Diplomatico Selección de Familia is an exclusive blend specially developed by Diplomatico's Master Distillers. It is made from 90% sugarcane honey and, before bottling, matures in carefully selected ex-Bourbon and Sherry casks, which gives it its distinctive character and complex aroma profile.
