Distillation takes place in a historic copper pot still over an open wood fire – a particularly gentle and artisanal method that gives the rum its authentic, natural base.

After distillation, the La Palma Suave matures on the island for 17 years, initially in ex-Bourbon casks. It then receives a complex finish in selected Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and Pineau des Charentes casks. This combination creates an impressive aromatic depth with fruity, spicy, and sweet notes.
