The agave hearts are first roasted for 36 to 54 hours in traditional stone ovens, allowing them to develop their natural sweetness and soft texture. This is followed by a slow fermentation over 48 to 60 hours before the tequila is distilled in copper pot stills. This ensures a particularly pure and complex aroma with fine notes of caramel, spices, and oak.

After distillation, El Padrino Extra Añejo matures for over three years in American oak barrels, giving it an incomparably smooth yet expressive structure.
