Description
In the picturesque landscape of Riegersburg in Styria, Alois Gölles, a third-generation farmer, runs the traditional family fruit-growing business. After graduating from the renowned Federal Institute for Viticulture and Fruit Growing in Klosterneuburg, he dedicated himself to refining his parents' harvest of apples, pears, plums, and peaches. His entry into the distillation of fine brandies began in 1979, followed by the establishment of his manufactory for high-quality vinegar in 1984. Today, the product range includes around twenty fine brandies and just as many vinegar varieties, which regularly receive recognition.
The "Ron Johan Rum" stands out due to its unique origin: it is distilled in Styria, with the molasses required for production sourced from Brazil, Paraguay, and the Dominican Republic. Another striking feature of this rum is the bottle label, which depicts pirate Black Beard and Austrian Archduke Johann. The rum is also dedicated to the latter, which gives it a special cultural and historical dimension.
Ron Johan Series Zero Rum is characterized by its creaminess and smoothness, obtained from organically certified sugar cane molasses from Paraguay. Maturation takes place for three years in American white oak barrels, which gives the rum its diverse aromatic profile. It is worth noting the absence of sugar and artificial additives, which underlines the pure and intense taste of the rum.
