The Caperdonich Distillery, built directly opposite the now renowned Glen Grant Distillery, was never able to fully emerge from its shadow, earning it the unflattering nickname "Glen Grant No. 2". Despite its potential, the distillery never achieved the fame of its neighbor and was eventually closed and demolished in 2011.

Despite the end of its production, Caperdonich whiskies live on. Some independent bottlers still have stocks of casks from this now-defunct distillery and occasionally release limited editions. The Caperdonich whisky, which lives on in these stories, matured for 18 years in American oak casks, giving it a special depth and complexity.
