The Ardbeg Distillery, unofficially in operation since 1794, was officially founded in 1815 by John McDougall under the name Ardbeg. The name comes from Gaelic and translates to "small hill". The distillery is located on the south coast of the famous Islay whisky region, known for its strong-character whiskies.

One of Ardbeg's most legendary creations was the Ardbeg Corryvreckan Limited Edition, the heart of which was matured in heavily toasted French oak casks. Only a few of these historic casks have survived to this day and are now being reborn in the exceptionally rare Ardbeg The Abyss. This cask-strength whisky is limited to only 400 bottles and represents absolute exclusivity.

With Ardbeg The Abyss, a legend is re-told – a whisky destined to become a legend itself. This unique edition will never be available in this form again.
