Leo Hillinger is a visionary entrepreneur and vintner who has elevated his passion for winemaking to international acclaim. His winery, which now boasts an impressive 100 hectares of vineyards, is renowned not only in Austria but worldwide for its excellent wines. These wines are distributed to over 20 countries around the globe, underscoring the Hillinger brand's global presence and popularity. After apprenticeships in Europe and California, Hillinger purchased 12 hectares of vineyards, laying the foundation for his successful winery in Jois, which opened in 2004. The company expanded with several Wineshop & Bars throughout Austria and a long-standing business relationship with the Constantia Glen winery in South Africa. In 2012, Hillinger was honored by Ernst & Young as "Entrepreneur of The Year," highlighting his outstanding role in the wine industry.

Hillinger Blaufränkisch Leithaberg is made from 100% carefully selected, organically grown Blaufränkisch grapes. This wine is vinified dry and comes from a selective hand harvest. After harvesting, fermentation takes place in open fermenters for about four weeks. The wine then ages for approximately 22 months in barriques and in large 3,000-liter wooden barrels, which gives it its exceptional structure and complexity.

This red wine has an impressive aging potential of about 10 years and is sealed with a natural cork. To experience the full aromatic spectrum of this wine, it is recommended to decant it one hour before drinking.
