The history of Martell dates back to around 1700 when Jean Martell traveled to Paris to create a cognac from the finest eaux de vie. After his death in 1753, his wife, Rachel Martell, took over her late husband's vision and successfully implemented it. She managed the company so successfully that Martell Cognac quickly became known in America and England. Today, Martell Cognac is a symbol of luxurious taste and the highest quality.
Martell VSOP is an authentic expression of the Martell style. The house maintains uncompromising savoir-faire by aging its brandies exclusively in fine-grained oak barrels. This peculiarity favors the development of refined aromas, which are reflected in the lush fruity notes of Martell VSOP.
