In 1975, Gérard Bertrand began his grape harvest at Château de Villemajou in Corbières, discovering his passion for wine there. For over twelve years, he honed his skills alongside his father, Georges Bertrand, until the fourth generation eventually continued the legacy. Following his father's tragic death in 1987, Gérard Bertrand took over the family management of Domaine de Villemajou and founded the Gérard Bertrand wine company. The Gérard Bertrand Group comprises 16 wineries and 16 châteaux along the Mediterranean coast of France, spanning a total of 850 hectares. Some of the hand-harvested grapes mature in 225-liter Bordeaux barrels, while the rest are stored in stainless steel tanks.

Gérard Bertrand Château L'Hospitalet La Clape impresses with an elegant, dry taste profile, characterized by exceptionally low residual sugar. This powerful cuvée is crafted from the Bourboulenc, Roussanne, Vermentino, and Viognier grape varieties, reflecting the unmistakable charm of the Old World.

The white wine greatly benefits from the Mediterranean climate of Languedoc, where the grapes ripen excellently under warm conditions and achieve a high must weight. After careful harvesting, the grapes are quickly processed, gently crushed, and fermented at controlled temperatures in large wooden vats. Subsequently, the wine matures for several more months in French oak barrels before being bottled and sealed with a natural cork.
