The Tomintoul distillery, located in the Scottish Highlands in the Cairngorms National Park and named after the nearby village of Tomintoul, opened its doors in 1964 and is now owned by Angus Dundee Distillers.

At 370 meters above sea level, Tomintoul is Scotland's second-highest distillery, surpassed only by the Braeval Distillery, founded in 1973. Although the majority of the 3.2 million liters of alcohol produced annually are exported to the United States for blends, Tomintoul consistently releases special single cask bottlings.

This limited edition single malt from the Tomintoul distillery in Speyside, distilled in 2009, matured for 14 years through a carefully coordinated aging process. After initial storage in American oak bourbon casks, additional maturation took place in Pedro Ximénez sherry quarter casks, selected and supervised by Master Distiller Robert Fleming.

This second maturation phase imparted a special depth and complexity to the whisky's flavor profile. Finally, the single malt was bottled without added coloring or chill-filtration, emphasizing its natural purity and authenticity. This combination of traditional production and innovative maturation makes this whisky a special experience for connoisseurs.
