In the picturesque landscape of Riegersburg in Styria, Alois Gölles, the third generation, continues the traditional family business in fruit farming. After graduating from the renowned Federal Higher Institute for Viticulture and Fruit Cultivation in Klosterneuburg, he dedicated himself to refining his parents' harvest of apples, pears, plums, and peaches. His entry into the distillation of fine brandies began in 1979, followed by the establishment of his manufactory for high-quality vinegar in 1984. Today, the product range includes about twenty fine brandies and just as many varieties of vinegar, which regularly receive recognition.

The "Ron Johan Rum" is distinguished by its unique origin: it is distilled in Styria, with the molasses necessary for production sourced from Brazil, Paraguay, and the Dominican Republic. Another striking feature of this rum is the bottle label, which depicts pirate Black Beard and the Austrian Archduke Johann. The rum is also dedicated to the latter, which gives it a special cultural and historical dimension.

Ron Johan Madeira Cask Rum is an exceptional organic rum and a limited special bottling for 2024. This fine, complex rum is made from high-quality Paraguayan sugarcane molasses and matures harmoniously for several years in American white oak barrels. After this long maturation, it receives its seductive finish for another seven months in Madeira wine barrels, which gives it additional complexity and a unique flavor profile.

This rum is limited to 1,335 bottles worldwide.
