The Tomintoul Distillery, located in the Scottish Highlands in the Cairngorms National Park and named after the nearby village of Tomintoul, opened its doors in 1964 and is now owned by Angus Dundee Distillers.

At 370 meters above sea level, Tomintoul is Scotland's second-highest distillery, surpassed only by the Braeval Distillery, founded in 1973. Although most of the 3.2 million liters of alcohol produced annually are exported to the United States for blends, Tomintoul consistently releases special single cask bottlings.

Tomintoul 16 Year Old The Gentle Dram is an exquisite single malt Scotch whisky that masterfully combines the gentle and mild character of the Tomintoul distillery with the opulent notes of a Sauternes wine cask. After extensive maturation in ex-Bourbon American Oak Casks, this whisky received a final finish in selected Sauternes wine casks, which are prized for their rich, sweet, and complex aromas.
