Description
Description
In the 10th century, during the reign of King Gagik I of the Bagratuni dynasty, a magnificent residence was built on the island of Akhtamar, bearing witness to the architectural and cultural heyday of that era. The island’s name derives from a legend about Princess Tamar. She was in love with a young man who tragically drowned in Lake Van whilst calling out to her with the last words, ‘Ah, Tamar’.
The label of Ararat Apricot features Mount Ararat, which is regarded as the most significant symbol of Armenian culture. The mountain slopes, home to some of the world’s oldest vineyards, underline the region’s historical significance for wine and spirits production. Ararat Apricot, which is aged in oak barrels for six years and then refined with apricots, combines tradition and craftsmanship in a product that reflects Armenian culture.
