Description
In 1975, Gérard Bertrand began his harvest at Château de Villemajou in the Corbières and discovered his passion for wine there. For over twelve years, he honed his skills alongside his father, Georges Bertrand, until the fourth generation finally continued the legacy. After the tragic death of his father in 1987, Gérard Bertrand took over the family management at Domaine de Villemajou and founded the Gérard Bertrand wine company. The Gérard Bertrand Group comprises 16 wineries and 16 châteaux along the Mediterranean coast of France, covering a total of 850 hectares. Some of the hand-harvested grapes mature in 225-liter Bordeaux barrels, while the other portion is stored in stainless steel tanks.
Gérard Bertrand Héritage An 462 Languedoc is a powerful and elegant red wine from the Languedoc, made from Syrah and Grenache grapes. The grapes are harvested separately and by hand to ensure optimal ripeness. The Syrah grapes undergo whole-cluster fermentation with a maceration of about 15 days, while the Grenache grapes receive a longer maceration period of 3 weeks. A portion of the wine ages for 10 months in 225-liter Bordeaux barrels, which gives it additional depth.
