The 2022 Goldenits Heideboden Zweigelt is a complex, powerful Zweigelt red wine from Burgenland, impressing with its depth, fruit, and soft tannins. With an alcohol content of 13.5% Vol., this wine presents itself as a characterful representative of its origin: Heideboden, one of the most renowned sites around Gols, near Lake Neusiedl. The vines grow on sandy chernozem soils with a medium to high stone content, as well as classic gravel soils – ideal conditions for structure, minerality, and aging potential.

The grapes were hand-picked between September 26 and 29, 2023. Following careful selection, there was a 20-day maceration period and temperature-controlled fermentation to best extract fruit and color. The wine was aged in a combination of used barrique barrels and large wooden barrels, which lends the wine complexity and elegance without masking its varietal fruit. The wine was bottled on November 30, 2023 – ready for immediate enjoyment or several years of bottle aging.
