The recipe is based on a so-called high-rye mash bill, which uses a comparatively high proportion of rye. This gives the bourbon a particularly spicy and robust aroma, setting it apart from other small batch bourbons. Maturation in new, charred American white oak barrels ensures a deep color and a characteristic balance of sweetness, spice, and wood notes.
