Description
The La Gauloise Liqueur Bicentenaire Jaune is a traditional French herbal liqueur with over 200 years of history, produced by the Distillerie du Centre in Limoges, France. This yellow variant is based on an original recipe from 1783, which relies on over 30 carefully selected herbs, roots, and spices. The recipe dates back to the apothecary Édouard Requier, who used an alchemical plant book – a "Grimoire" – as the basis for this complex composition. To this day, the liqueur is macerated, distilled, and handcrafted according to traditional methods.
With an alcohol content of 40% Vol., La Gauloise Jaune presents itself as softer and sweeter than the green "Verte" variant, while remaining fully aromatic and complex. Its natural color, intensely herbaceous character, and slightly honeyed sweetness make this liqueur a classic of French spirits art. Over generations, La Gauloise has received multiple awards – including the gold medal at the 1889 World's Fair and the Medal of Honor in 1900.
