Produced in the traditional Zwack distillery in Budapest, Unicum Riserva stands for Hungarian craftsmanship, centuries of knowledge, and the continuous development of a national cult drink.


Unicum Riserva owes its uniqueness to a two-stage barrel aging process. First, the original Unicum is stored in the distillery's largest and oldest wooden barrel, which has rested in Zwack's historic cellars for over eighty years. Over the decades, an aromatic layer has formed on the barrel walls, lovingly referred to by the master distillers as "black honey." This provides additional depth, warmth, and complexity to the flavor profile.


In the second maturation step, the Unicum is transferred to Tokaj oak barrels, in which the famous Hungarian sweet wine Tokaji Aszú was previously stored. These barrels give the liqueur its exceptionally soft, round structure and balance fruity, winey nuances with the bitter-spicy herbal notes that have defined Unicum's character for generations.


The result is a noble, multi-faceted herbal liqueur with perfectly balanced aromas of bitter herbs, dried fruits, honey, and fine wood, combining both tradition and innovation.
