The Markowitsch Carnuntum Red 2024 is a finely balanced cuvée from the heart of the Carnuntum region and embodies the perfect balance of fruit, spice and elegance. The Weingut Markowitsch is renowned for its meticulous work in the vineyard and in the cellar, and this wine once again demonstrates why it ranks amongst the region’s leading estates.


The cuvée is composed of 80% Zweigelt, 10% Blaufränkisch and 10% Merlot. The vines grow on gravelly and sandy loam soils, which lend the grapes minerality and structure. The 2024 vintage is regarded in Carnuntum as one of the most exciting of recent years: A warm start to spring led to early budbreak, the hot summer months accelerated growth, and an early harvest – small in volume but outstanding in quality – produced grapes of incredible concentration. The grapes were harvested by hand in mid-September. Following a maceration period of 10–12 days at 28–30 °C and malolactic fermentation, the wine was matured in large wooden casks and used barriques. With an alcohol content of 13% vol., the Markowitsch Carnuntum Red 2024 stands as an authentic ambassador for its region and as a red wine of exceptional finesse.
