The Baron Philippe de Rothschild Escudo Rojo Gran Reserva 2022 is a premium red wine from Chile that combines the Rothschild family’s winemaking tradition with the exceptional terroir of the Maipo Valley. The name Escudo Rojo – Spanish for ‘Red Shield’ – pays homage to the coat of arms of the famous wine-growing family and stands for quality, elegance and character. Thanks to ideal climatic conditions, the 2022 vintage produced particularly well-balanced and fruit-driven wines that are a delight to drink even when young, whilst also offering excellent ageing potential.


The cuvée is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Syrah, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc – a blend that perfectly combines French expertise with Chilean winemaking artistry. The grapes come from selected vineyards with mineral-rich soils in the Maipo Valley, one of South America’s most renowned wine regions. Ageing in French barriques lends the wine depth, structure and finesse.
